Gaining business reviews is incredibly helpful for gaining more business. Of course, you’ll want to get all the positive reviews that you can. Reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook, Bing, etc., are helpful for when a potential customer is shopping around and stumbles upon your business online. A glowing amount of reviews will instill their trust in you before they even make an action, such as a phone call. The big question is… how do we get reviews?

Five Stars

It’s really simple… just ask. Ask after helping a customer that continues to express how much you’ve helped them solve their problem. Asking for a review can feel awkward, but confidence and practice is key. Another thing… don’t be afraid to ‘role play’ this out with your staff! Make them feel comfortable as well!

Here are a few good ways to ask for someone to leave you a review.

“I am glad that we were able to help you. By any chance… would you be willing to leave us a review on Google or Facebook (or whatever review platform you’d like)? It would be really great if you could let others know how your visit with us went.”

“Thank you for choosing us to help your problem. It would be really great if you could express to others how well your visit it… would you be up for writing us a review? We’d appreciate it more than you’d ever know!”

Sure, you don’t have to ask every customer but ask the ones who seem to really resonate with the service you’ve provided them. The best place for a positive review would be Google or Facebook but in all SEO honesty, any review platform would be great. Make it a habit to check popular review platforms and respond to the reviews, even the negative ones.

Which brings me to another point… don’t worry about the possibility of negative reviews. Respond to the negative reviews by simply asking them to contact the store manager so the problem can be solved. It’s as easy as that. There is no need to continue a battle of the reviews and debate back and forth about a situation. Responding to all reviews, even the negatives ones, will show potential customers that you are on top of your game and take pride in providing great service. After all, if you and your staff continue to go above and beyond for clients then the last thing you’ll need to worry about is a negative review.
