Link building: Promote Your Own in 2009

A marketing campaign with nowhere to go?  In need of low-cost, easy techniques to broaden your customer base?  Look no further than your website, and the SEO tool known as link building.

A recent Search Engine Watch article recommends link building for promo efforts and newsletters.  The article suggests that if you have a “limited-time” feature on your site, to use the power of the rest of your site as a marketing tool.  And instead of marking your 25th anniversary in the local paper, reference it on the most popular pages of your website!  It’s a cheap option that increases site visibility and value.

The goal is to collect inbound links to important pages of your site, and it gets complicated.  However, it’s one of our most trusted methods.  And this leads to the other purpose of this blog entry, which is to give unofficial clues about Upright’s new link building program, launching April 1.

With more details still to come, get excited!  We are developing a fun, interactive portal to enable client participation in linking success.  Each month will feature a link building activity to boost site value; some months will be light/simple activities, while others may be a little more in-depth.  The goal is to manage this program through a client-login forum on Upright’s own website.  Logging into this portal will provide access to instructions/resources for each month’s activity.  It will also be a direct way to share link building ideas and ask questions of our Link Building Specialists.
