We’re really loving the fact that people are more inclined to support local businesses than in the past. We see more people searching for a local business over a big box store and that makes us happy. When our communities support local business, we support local economic growth and the goodness just snowballs in to town.

Local business owners continue to work hard each and every day to make sure their business is headed in the right direction. Upright Communications is happy to help local businesses and we’re always on a mission to show new tools to help local business owners. The newest tool we’d like to tell you about is the Nextdoor Neighbor app, also known as Nextdoor.

Nextdoor is a community based social media platform that is 100% local. It’s the most local social media platform that we’ve seen thus far (aside from local listings, of course). The app is narrowed down to your zip code and you can chat with your neighbors within a 10-mile radius. You can become updated on activities happening just minutes from your home.

Sounds cool, right? Here is why we are really loving Nextdoor. Local business owners can claim their local listing on the platform. It’s really easy to do so and we highly encourage you to consider claiming your listing. It’s common for users that use Nextdoor to ask their neighbors who they recommend as a mortgage lender, auto repair shop, or ever lawyers. If your listing is claimed, you can respond to recommendations and to reviews.

If you want to learn more about how your local business can stand out, then reach out to Upright Communications! Or, if you want to learn how to generate more leads, request our e-book. We’re always ready to lend a helping hand!
