14 Reusable Ideas for Small Business Facebook Posts

facebook-1If you are using Facebook to promote your small business, you are not alone. According to Ad Week, the number of small businesses with a Facebook page that is updated at least once a month rose from 25 million in 2013 to 30 million in 2014.

With so much participation, updating your Facebook page every once in a while is not enough. Your page needs to be active with posts, and your posts need to be interesting and engaging enough to encourage comments, liking, and sharing.

You can incentivize interaction with contests or special offers. Be creative, but be cautious with subject matter – when in doubt, leave it out.

Below is a list of reusable post ideas that you can customize with little effort and time involved.

  1. Share an interesting article relating to your business.
  2. Spotlight  and link to any new content on your website.
  3. Share a link to a tutorial that relates to your products or services.
  4. Post an old picture of your office or employees for a  #TBT (Throwback Thursday) post.
  5. Snap a “behind the scenes” picture that shows followers your business in action.
  6. Share fun photos of your employees or company events.
  7. Invite your followers to share pictures of themselves at your business.
  8. Take a poll asking your visitors which of your product or services is their favorite.
  9. Give a shout out to a local team, organization, or individual for a great achievement.
  10. Share an inspiring quote or funny meme.
  11. Ask your followers to share why they love your products or services.
  12. Ask a trivia question about a classic television show or an old hit song.
  13. Offer a special discount to anyone who mentions your post.
  14.  Brag about a great accomplishment by one of your employees.

As to the question of how often to post, it is important to strike a balance between staying visible without being too annoying and cluttering the news feed of your followers/fans. We recommend starting with 3x per week. See how the response goes – you can always make adjustments.
